Chris Sumner • President

Chris is the Morning Show Co-Host on CFAM Radio 950. He volunteers with Special Olympics Manitoba and enjoys golfing, reading and biking. Chris joined the foundation in December of 2015 and currently serves on the Public Relations Committee.

Loren Braul • Vice-President

Loren Braul is a lawyer with Gilmour & Braul Law Office and enjoys country living on an acreage just outside Altona. Loren joined the foundation in 2016 and currently serves on the Asset Development Committee.

Wendy Dyck • Treasurer

Wendy Dyck is the VP of Finance for Valley Fiber and VISP. When she is not adding letters to the back of her name, she’s either running or in the kitchen. And if you think she runs like a girl… try to keep up. Wendy joined the foundation in 2016 taking on the role of Treasurer and currently serves on the Asset Development Committee.

Bill Penner

Bill retired from Access Credit Union after 40 plus years as the Ag Account Manager. Bill joined the foundation in December of 2015 and currently serves on the Public Relations Committee.

Brenda Thiesen

Brenda retired from CIBC after working 30+ years in banking. Brenda joined the foundation in 2013 and currently serves on the Granting Committee.

Scott Penner

Scott is the co-owner of Pioneer Meat and enjoys running as well as acting. “I actually joined the theatre group when family and friends realized they shouldn’t hand me the mic at weddings.” Scott joined the foundation in 2017 and currently serves on the Granting Committee.

Keith Stoesz

Keith has been employed at Friesens Corporation for the past 22 years in various roles. Over the past 15 years he has served on the boards at the Oakview Golf Club, Altona United Church and the Altona Curling Club. Keith joined the foundation in 2017 and currently serves on the Granting Committee.

Ken Wiebe

During his working life, Ken worked at Golden West Broadcasting, but since his retirement has served on various community boards including The Gardens on Tenth, Altona Gretna and District United Way, and the Field of Dreams committee. Ken joined the foundation in 2017 and is part of the Asset Development Committee.

Tracy Klassen

Tracy has been employed at the Altona branch of Access Credit Union since 2005, all in the lending department. Originally from Winnipeg, Tracy moved to Altona in 2004 – the town and area has shown her a sense of community and she has been happy to be able to raise her family here and be a part of this community. Tracy joined the foundation in 2018 and is part of the public relations committee.
